u know. i do think we were robbed by not having that moment in the show where tommy sees joel’s concern for ellie whilst she’s talking a minute a mile at him and suddenly gets why joel needs him to take ellie and agrees to it… just that instant understanding that not only is joel desperately trying to run from Dad Mode bcus he’s so afraid of it but also that ellie and he have already bonded so much despite joel’s outward resistance to it, despite him trying to deny it and just. knowing his big brother cannot take that pain again if anything were to happen to ellie and agreeing to risk himself instead.

okay. listen. this idea has been rattling around in my head for weeks and im not gonna write it so here.

deadpool 4:

deadpool gets help from lorna “polaris” dane but maybe he hears lawra instead of lorna and is calling her the wrong thing the entire time. we, the audience, aren’t really sure who she is either. plot happens? idk? and then we find logan and logan is like. hm. this girl is a mutant huh? and wades like ya! but there’s not time to really dissect that bc of all the plot happening or whatever.

there’s a huge battle at the end of course. lorna uses her powers for the first time in front of logan and he’s like UMMMM WADE??? DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT IS??? and wades like lol no. and logan is like that’s magnetos fucking daughter you idiot. but there’s a huge battle! no time for this! and then lorna gets hurt, bad. but shes laughing or whatever. she thinks it’s hilarious. the Bad Guy is like um? you’re bleeding internally? and she’s like :) but then the ground starts to rumble.

wade is like ??? and logan clocks it immediately - he’s like shitshitshit we gotta go. before they get anywhere all the metal in the area starts to like. shudder. warp.

then erik flies in raining fuckin hellfire down on these people and it’s like AHHHHHHH. but then CHARLES is there to help lorna up?? and it’s like oh my god?! OHHH MY GOD? and she’s like “hi other dad” and then a bunch of cgi epic disney money battling happens and we’re all like sick but oh no!!!

And he’s like. “dang dad. keep up.” magneto just smiles and then goes back to decimating those people and peter picks up lorna like “hey sis” and takes her back to the x jet AND THEN THE REST OF THE CREW COMES OUT TO HELP and deadpool gets to fight with all the xmen as he should have always been able to the end.

WRT your thoughts on All Things Must Die, one of the lyrics that stood out to me was “surrender your pride/let death be your guide” because like- if you look at that through the lens of silver eyed warriors being psychopomps of sorts, there’s a lot to dig into with Summer giving up her old self and joining Salem while everyone presumes her to be dead👀

<- calls back to sacrifice (“close your eyes now, time for dreams/death is never what it seems”) and invokes the same dream/death metaphor; ruby is dreaming and summer is death but death is never what it seems
